Peptide Calculator for Laboratory Concentration and Dilution

Calculate mass concentration, dilution and mass-unit conversions for laboratory records. The formulas use the values you enter; they do not verify a sample’s identity, purity, solubility or measured content.

LABORATORY RESEARCH TOOL

Peptide concentration and dilution calculator

Enter measured values for a nonclinical experiment. Results describe solution quantities; they do not establish identity, purity, stability or suitability for an experiment.

Mass concentration

Concentration (mg/mL) = mass (mg) ÷ final solution volume (mL). Use the final volume, not the volume of solvent added.

Choose a calculation and enter the measured values.

For nonclinical laboratory calculations. No administration, patient dosing or syringe guidance is provided. Inputs remain in your browser and are not saved by this calculator.

Use final volume

For 5 mg in a final solution volume of 10 mL, concentration is 5 ÷ 10 = 0.5 mg/mL, equivalent to 500 micrograms/mL. Final volume is the volume of the completed solution, which must not be assumed to equal the amount of solvent added.

Check the dilution relationship

C₁V₁ = C₂V₂ applies when concentrations use the same basis. A stock of 10 mg/mL diluted to 2 mg/mL in a final volume of 25 mL requires 5 mL of stock. The arithmetic difference is 20 mL; follow the applicable laboratory method to establish final volume. Dilution cannot create a concentration greater than the stock.

Check what the input mass means

One milligram equals 1,000 micrograms. Biological activity units cannot be converted to mass without an appropriate material-specific relationship. The tool does not calculate patient doses, injection amounts or syringe units.

Review concentration, dilution and the testing guide when documenting the basis of a result. This public arithmetic tool is separate from the site’s existing member resources.
