Peptide bond
A peptide bond is the amide linkage joining amino acid residues in the peptide backbone. It helps define chemical class; it is not a quality grade or an intended-use designation.
Reading example
A small molecule displayed in a peptide catalogue does not become a peptide because of that grouping. Check the chemical structure and full identity.
Keep the evidence with the term
When this term appears on a report, retain the sample identifier and original wording. A glossary definition explains terminology; it cannot certify a supplied lot or replace a method-specific interpretation.
