Amino acid

An amino acid is a molecular building block used in peptide sequences. The ordered residues and their chemical configuration matter when identifying a peptide.

Reading example

A sequence record should preserve the original residue notation and modifications. A shared amino acid composition does not by itself establish the same ordered sequence.
